the money date is a standing date with your numbers, snacks encouraged. here's mine from this month so you can see how unglamorous it really is:

• the setup: mila's old rocking chair. it's become my little safe space to read, sip my yogi cinnamon horchata stress + sleep tea, and get away from the phone for a minute. it's also where i open monarch (yes, the one i partner with, i use it every week), update my transactions, split business expenses from personal, and adjust my goals for upcoming trips and sinking funds

• the number i looked at: our points. we're planning mila's 5th birthday trip and i'm finally learning points for real, like actually opening every account and adding up the balances

• what i decided: never again am i neglecting the points from work travel. all those american flights and world of hyatt stays add up, and when i linked peter's chase business card points with mine, we had way more than i thought 🤯

ok this one is less of a win with a number and more of a win because i'm saying it out loud 🥹

i had a little panic attack when it hit me that i was going from traditionally published to independently published, and that i'd be figuring out all the paperwork of being my own publisher while still being a sole prop. opening my llc makes more sense now than ever, and it's still sitting on my to do list like a bandaid i keep hesitating to rip off.

so the win: it's on the list, it's in writing, and now you all know, which means i can't hide from it 😅

i'm healing my relationship with money right alongside all of you, so let's have a little grace with each other. i'm already scared enough lol

ok so i keep asking you all to post your one money thing for december, so it's only fair i go first and let you hold me to it.

my three for the rest of 2026:

• money: tidy up my w2 and 1099 earnings before i sit down with my accountant. q3 got a little crazy, and now that the rich hermana (my 1099 side quest) is starting to outearn my 9 to 5, i have more questions than answers

• the book: do all the things to legitimize and republish my 2nd edition. get the isbn, update the interior, the whole thing

• me: put myself out there, literally. my brand is super digital heavy and i'm lacking on the irl front, so i want to go to more events and meet likeminded people

why these three: i'm in a weird place in my life where i feel beyond blessed to work at my dream job and still make time to pour into my silly little side quest that's slowly becoming bigger than i ever anticipated. the goal under all three is organizing myself better and getting better at delegating, because outsourcing is really hard for me as a founder and creator (working on it 🥹)

Every week one question gets answered by name in the letter. This is where you drop it.

Anything goes. The number you are embarrassed by, the decision you keep putting off, the thing your family does with money that you are trying to undo, the account nobody ever explained to you.

Two things that help me answer well:

• Give me enough detail to actually work with. Numbers help. So does the part you are avoiding.

• Say whether you want your name used or want to stay anonymous. Either is completely fine.
